1.Tip before leaving home

Checked out your car by a professional mechanic. Make sure the oil is up to date and that all brakes, belts, and hoses are in working order. All other fluids ? especially antifreeze ? should be filled to nominal levels.

All seatbelts, the emergency brake, turning indicators and hazard lights should be in good working order.

Pack a reliable Atlas and/or maps, and get detailed directions to your destination.

2.Tips While on the road

Do not talk on your cell phone while driving.

Take rest breaks every two to three hours, and pull over to a rest stop if inclement weather begins to impair visibility.
Never leave children unaccompanied. When outside at a gas station or rest stop, keep family members in sight at all times.

3.Tips While at your destination

Start your car and let it idle a few minutes once a day, to prevent freezing,in could climate.When staying in a motel, keep you car in a well-lit section of parking lot.
Make sure cell phones are fully recharged every night.
